Additional and Specialist Learning results

Level 2 Catalogue for the Higher Diploma in Environmental and Land Based Studies

All learners must achieve 180 guided learning hours or more of additional and specialist learning from the qualifications contained within the list below.

There are a number of rules which apply to qualifications making up additional and specialist learning. These are as follows:

• Qualifications achieved as part of additional and specialist learning must be at the level of the Diploma or above.
• Qualifications that vary in level according to the grade achieved (for example GCSEs) must be achieved at an appropriate level in order to contribute towards a Diploma award.
• Some qualifications in additional and specialist learning are suitable for post-16 learners only. View qualification details for information on age ranges.
• Guided learning hours (glh) are the number of hours of teacher-supervised or directed study time required to teach a qualification. A learner must achieve any valid combination of qualifications from additional and specialist learning that equal or exceed 180 guided learning hours in total.
• Qualifications with the same barring classification code cannot be used to count towards the required 180 guided learning hours.

The range of additional and specialist learning available will change over time.
