Amendment to assessment methodology. All units now to be internally set and marked with external moderation by ASET. Portfolio building (assessor observation of practical skills, witness testimony, Q&A, photographs, video, simple projects).
Removing externally set from mandatory unit 'Preparation for work' and requirement to externally validate 2 units from a vocational pathway.
A survey was sent to centres currently offering this programme and feed back on assessment indicated that all active centres would welcome this amendment. This also reflects QCA recommendation to ABs (letter 22 July 05 'Entry level regulatory criteria for external assessment').
To guide centres ASET will post exemplars assessment materials on the website.
