It is anticipated that candidates for this qualification will already be employed within a leisure centre, health club organisation (typically 'client-facing') in the public, private or voluntary sector. This qualification is for leisure centre employees responsible for an operational role acting undersupervision. It will give them the opportunity to prove their competence over time in the workplace.

Candidates must complete all units in Group A, Mandatory Units. Candidates must also complete four units from any of the four optional groups which cover Equipment; Facilities; Customer Care; and Team Leading.
