This qualification aims to build on the knowledge provided in the Foundation Certificate. By the end of the course successful candidates will be able to demonstrate achievement of the following learning outcomes:

The design and operation of their own pool plant including the circulation, filtration, disinfection, pH correction and heating of pool water.
How to maintain water that is in ‘balance’ and which is safe and pleasant to swim in.
The principles of testing pool water and the remedial action required to restore ideal conditions.
Technical requirements for ensuring safe and efficient operation of pool plant
The use of good management
