Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Sport and Recreation Operations
Qualification summary
This introductory qualification specifically designed by the industry for sport and recreation assistants/pool attendants working, or aspiring to work, in sport and recreation.
It provides candidates with essential background knowledge in a number of core subjects which will enable them to develop their vocational skills, whilst also allowing individuals to specialise in a number of areas of their choice. It also provides underpinning knowledge for the NVQ/SVQ Operational Services Level 2.
Who is it for?
It is the ideal qualification to assist those individuals keen to both begin and progress their careers within the industry. It will be of particular interest to the following groups:
Sport and recreation organisations with a need to train their staff to an agreed nationally recognised standard with a particular desire to improve both staff and customer satisfaction.
Individuals in the industry who wish to have their experience and knowledge recognised by a formal qualification.
Students who want to go into sport and recreation as a career and who wish to undertake the most industry relevant qualification in preparation.
This qualification is the first step on the structured pathway of Sport and Recreation qualifications. Higher levels of qualification, when linked to industry experience, can also lead to membership of the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management.

Written Examination
Two units contain externally assessed multiple choice theory papers. All other assessments are set by Active IQ and internally assessed by independant assessors.
Holistic assessment is encouraged by carryout observations of Reception Skills and Customer Service at the same time. Worksheets can also be easily combined to encourage candidate progression.
This qualification comprises ten mandatory units. Candidates must successfully achieve all units to receive the full qualification.
