As there are no occupational requirements for qualifications in Payroll, candidates may progress to employment from study at any stage, including before registration. Further progression is also provided to the NVQ level 3 in Payroll Administration (from the level 2) or across to the Accounting suite of NVQs.

Unit 21 from Level 2 or Level 3 NVQs in Accounting, Element 31.2 of Unit 31 in AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or AAT Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Accounting in NQF would provide exemption to Unit 21
Unit 22 from Level 2, Level 3 or Level 4 NVQ in Accounting, Element 31.3 of Unit 31 in AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or AAT Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Accounting in NQF would provide exemption to Unit 22
Unit 23 from Level 2 NVQ in Accounting, Element 31.3 of Unit 31 in AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or AAT Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Accounting in NQF would provide exemption to Unit 23
Assessment methods have been developed to meet the requirements of the AOSG assessment strategy, which specifies that independent assessment is mandatory for some units. In this qualification this applies to unit 73.
This qualification consists of six mandatory units. Learners must achieve all six units to gain the qualification. 20 credits are required to achieve the qualification.
