Horse Care
Qualification summary
This qualification at level 2 in Horse Care has 7 mandatory units and 5 optional groups. The mandatory units cover providing routine care, preparing horses for use and determining health and condition, working horses from the ground, providing grass and water for grazing animals, assisting with transportation of horses and developing and maintaining personal effectiveness. Candidates may also choose one optional group: Group B (riding horses), Group C (assisting with working horses on the land), or Group D (assisting with the instigation of reproduction, parturition care and the rearing of young stock),Group E (care of the performance horse), or Group F (drive horses under direction).
