Horse Care and Management
Qualification summary
This qualification at level 3 in Horse Care and Management has 6 mandatory units and 5 groups of optional units. The mandatory units cover: resolving health and condition problems, monitoring routine care, transporting horses, developing teams to enhance performance, planning, allocating and evaluating work and creating and maintaining working relationships. Candidates also choose one of the optional groups which cover preparing, riding horses, working horses, driving horses on the road, breeding and rearing young stock, designing exercise programmes. There are also 5 additional units which are not required for the NVQ but which can be separately certificated.

Candidates must take all the units in Group A - Mandatory Units.
They must also choose to take ONE of the four optional Groups (B, C,
D, E or F). Candidates may also opt to take one or more of the
additional units from Group G, but these are not necessary for the
NVQ.
