A Level 3 Technical Certificate is already available from which candidates/achievers can progress.
The new Glazing standards are more reflective of the requirements for NVQ/SVQ qualifications.
New entrants or those already employed but not qualified will normally commence at Level 2 and when appropriate move to Level 3. If prior experience is claimed and supporting evidence is acceptable (or a systematic training programme is planned) individuals can register direct onto the Level 3
The glass sector has introduced a Foundation Degree course (that has a route for Glaziers).
Some Glaziers can move on to supervisory and/or management positions.
