Glass and Glazing Production (Replacement Fabrication)

Qualification summary

This qualification covers competence in glass and glazing production (replacement fabrication). Five mandatory units cover: work preparation (flat glass), glass handling, handling/loading window sections and glazing materials, factory glazing windows and doors, and fabricating aluminium or PVCU casement windows and doors. Candidates also choose to take a unit in aluminium fabrication or PVCU fabrication. Additional units (fabricating aluminium or PVCU horizontal/vertical windows or tilt and turn windows) may also be taken, but these are not required for the NVQ.
