Qualification summary

All mortgage advisers across the UK are required by Financial Services Authority regulation to be appropriately qualified. This qualification has been designed to ensure that it is accepted as an appropriate qualification in the area of mortgage advice and thus will be accepted by the regulator (FSA) as a 'licence to practise' for those operating in this part of the financial services sector. The qualification has been developed with input from across the sector. This ensures that the content provides learners with the underpinning knowledge to enable them to meet current and future career and regulatory requirements.

This qualification has been designed to enhance pathways for learners both within the qualifications framework and within the ifs School of Finance qualification provision. The units within the qualification take into account opportunities for both lateral and upward progression of learning. As such CeMAP provides learners with the required knowledge and understanding to enable them to move onto other qualifications at the same level eg CeFA with which CeMAP shares introductory units, or onto higher level qualifications such as the ifs School of Finance Professional Diploma in Financial Services Management.
