The Foundation Certificate in Personal Finance has been designed to equip learners with knowledge and skills to be able to cope confidently and effectively with the basic financial encounters they are likely to meet.

They will learn what influences how we spend or save money and how to become competent in managing their own money. Learners will gain knowledge about money and its different forms, sources of money and how people use and manage money.

The Foundation Certificate in Personal Finance will stand as a cohesive qualification in its own right. For students interested furthering their studies in this area of learning they can proceed into the Level 2 Intermediate Certificate in Personal Finance which is offered by the ifs School of Finance and from there into the Level 3 Certificate and Diploma in Financial Studies which carry UCAS tarriff ratings and can therefore count towards entry into Higher Education.
