Qualification summary
This is a level 1 pre-apprenticeship qualification that covers the technical needs for today’s motor vehicle repair industry, including basic processes, principles, and foundation skills. It provides essential knowledge for body repairers working on a wide range of vehicles in all types of garages, dealerships and specialist body repair shops.
It is a learning programme which involves students studying both the theory and practical aspects of the following:
• Vehicle body repair technical information and materials
• Forming, joining and measuring
• Basic body repairs
• And moving loads and vehicle jacking

Independant assessment takes the form of online multiple choice test set and marked by IMIAL and practical assessments set by IMIAL, marked by the approved centre and moderated by IMIAL

IMI Level 1 Award in Vehicle Body and Paint Operations (MET/Body Fitting)
IMI Level 1 Award in Vehicle Body and Paint Operations (Refinishing)
Students must complete all units from the Group A of their chosen pathway.
