Qualification summary

This level 2 qualification covers technical needs for today’s motor vehicle repair industry, including basic body repair techniques and procedures. It provides essential knowledge for the body repairer working on a wide range of vehicles in all types of garages, dealerships and specialist body repair shops.

It is a learning programme which involves students studying both the theory and practical aspects of the following:
• Removing and Fitting Non-Welded Non-Structural Body Panels
• Removing and Replacing Non-Structural Body Panels
• Repairing Non-Structural Body Panels

Independant assessment takes the form of online multiple choice test set and marked by IMIAL and practical assessments set by IMIAL, marked by the approved centre and moderated by IMIAL

IMI Level 2 Certificate in Vehicle Body and Paint Operations (Body Repair)
IMI Level 2 Certificate in Vehicle Body and Paint Operations (MET/Body Fitting)
IMI Level 2 Certificate in Vehicle Body and Paint Operations (Refinishing)

Students must complete all units from Group A and the Group B of their chosen pathway. An additional unit is available for the MBF pathway.
