The level 2 qualification is based upon the Council for Administration National Occupational Standards (2005) and forms an integral part of the CfA Business Administration Apprenticeship. It focuses on a business administration role whose primary responsibility is to provide general administration support to more senior members of the administration team. It aims for candidates to demonstrate that they have the skills to work effectively in a busy office environment.

Within the retail motor industry the qualification will help to retain qualified staff in non-technical disciplines. The motor industry includes are huge variety of disciplines and therefore endless opportunities and demand for staff. The industry needs calibre staff not only in the technical specialities, but also in sales, management, marketing, human resources, finance and administration. By providing Administration NVQs for non-technical staff, employers should benefit from improved staff performance and retention, productivity and quality assurance.
