Supporting Relationships in a Health and Social Care Setting
Unit summary
In this unit the learner will explore the supporting skills required for interpersonal interaction and the communication skills required for handling difficult, complex and sensitive issues.
The unit introduces different communication styles, and how to use these skills to become an effective communicator. Learners consider how legislation affects communication between the individual and others. The learner will gain understanding of how important interpersonal skills are in communicating with individuals in his/her care and staff members within a team.
By completing this unit learners will be able to demonstrate the knowledge of the different forms of communications and the constraints on effective communication on maintaining relationships and how supporting skills contribute to the care of individuals.
