All animals need food and water. Whether animals are kept in pet shops, are staying in a kennels or cattery or as a pet at home, the correct diet will help to make sure they remain fit and healthy.
In this unit you will learn about the different foods that a range of animals can eat and why water is important.
You will also learn about keeping food in the right way, preparing it correctly by using kitchen utensils safely and hygienically, and feeding animals correctly.
Within this unit, you may also be required to use weights and measures when preparing food for animals.
If you want to work with animals, this unit is very important. It will help you to understand the basic needs of animals with regards to their diet.
