Relationship between music and dance
Unit summary
To explore the complexities which exist in the creative partnership of music and dance in the dance teaching and learning situation. The content is designed to improve listening skills and enable students to select music of the correct tempo and genre to accompany their class work and performance activities. Through experience of a wide repertoire of musical accompaniment, the study aims to give the student teacher confidence to make appropriate and effective choices of music for all their dance work and equip them with the necessary knowledge of musical structure to work with a live musician in the teaching and learning situation.
