Planning Techniques in Dance Teaching
Unit summary
To enable the student teacher to plan programmes of dance learning which are appropriate for the learner’s age, gender, level of achievement and ability and which are designed to meet the required learning outcomes. This unit of study is designed to familiarize student teachers with the complexities of the work-place, taking into account, for example, cultural diversity and the application of equality of opportunity. Through the process of the practical application of their planning and their evaluation of the outcomes, student teachers will be encouraged to use their experience to inform future planning. Through this Unit they will be engaged, therefore, in a process of evaluating both their own and their learners’ performance leading to a highly professional approach to the preparation of teaching programmes.
