CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education

Qualification summary

The CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education (DCE) is a well-respected award equivalent to studying 3 ‘A’ levels and carries UCAS tariff points.
It prepares age 16+ candidates for supervisory work with children under 8 years old, including babies and those with special needs. The DCE gives a secure basis of knowledge and assesses practical skills.

Written Examination
Candidates will have to complete each of the following assessments at E grade or above in order to
gain the diploma within the registration period.
The Diploma has 12 units. Candidates must successfully complete the assessments for the
following:

Unit 1 - Observation and Assessment Portfolio of 20 child observations
Unit 2 - Work with Young Children Portfolio of 4 pieces of work
Units 3 - 11 - Unit Assignments Assignment written by externally set and internally assessed. centre
Unit 12 - Practical Training Practice Evidence Records and 3 Professional Development Profiles (Pass grade only is possible)

Diploma Test Paper - A test paper covering Units 3 - 11
All units are mandatory
