Qualification summary

The aim of this qualification is to provide basic skills and experiences in leadership that are taught in a sporting context. Candidates will learn the basic elements of how to plan, organise and deliver a simple sports activity to a group and these experiences often provide opportunities to increase their personal development, i.e. self-confidence, time keeping, team work etc. The qualification is available to people from the age of 14yrs to allow them to assist a qualified coach, leader or teacher in delivering suitable sporting activities. The syllabus is therefore mainly delivered and assessed through practical activities and tasks.
