The aim and broad objective of this qualification is to provide theoretical underpinning knowledge to support the competence of engineers employed in the systems engineering sector of the security industry. In addition, this underpinning knowledge is directly related to the NVQ Level 2 for Installing and Maintaining Security and Alarm Systems occupational standards.

Each pathway within the qualificaiton is assessed through one on-line multiple choice examination, a short answer question paper and an assignment.
