City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Furniture Production

Qualification summary

This award is classified as a technical certificate, providing underpinning knowledge for learners seeking or already working in the furniture and woodcrafting industry. Candidates follow role specific pathways containing a blend of core (mandatory ) and optional units. The core units focus on issues such as health and safety in the workplace, and using the City & Guilds online assessment system (GOLA). The optional units reflect the key knowledge requirements for a successful career within the furniture and wood crafting industry. The optional units can be matched to the NVQ work based assignments, making completion of an apprenticeship more convenient. This award can also be taken as a stand-alone award, where it will provide the necessary background and technical knowledge for newcomers to the industries. Using this award as a theoretical foundation, numerous role specific pathways are theoretically available, with centres able to focus on those of local relevance.
