NVQ - National Vocational Qualification

When undertaking a qualification that does not appear on the governments' lists as eligible for funding for specific age ranges, users must be aware of legal requirements. Not all qualifications are suitable for all age ranges.
Learners completing this NVQ will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to work within the Health and Social Care Sector. They will also have a broad experience of the industry and will have gained skills that are transferable to other vocations.
For some individuals these NVQs could provide a useful recognition of professional competence to aid their step up from one job role to another, e.g. into supervisory and/or management roles. For others it could prepare them for progression to or provide access to further, and/or higher education
This qualification is an NVQ and is assessed through competence-based assessment methods, it is internally assessed and externally verified.
Qualification Accreditation Number 100/4820/0 provides pathways to the following qualifications:
EDI Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care (Adults);
EDI Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People).
Children and Young People
Candidates must complete four mandatory units (HSC31, HSC32, HSC33 and HSC34) from Group A, plus four Optional units from Group B. Rules of combination for units apply.
Adults
Candidates must complete four mandatory units (HSC31, HSC32, HSC33 and HSC35) from Group A, plus four Optional units from Group B. Rules of combination for units apply.
