When undertaking a qualification that does not appear on the governments' lists as eligible for funding for specific age ranges, users must be aware of legal requirements. Not all qualifications are suitable for all age ranges.

OCR does not prescribe one assessment method for this qualification, but supports the use of a range of methods which take account of the competence being assessed, the context in which it is being assessed, and the particular needs of the individual being assessed. The methods of assessment identified as suitable for this qualification are supported by the assessment strategy as valid and reliable in relation to assessment of competence and/or knowledge. By allowing assessors to choose the assessment method, OCR encourages the use of assessment methods which are manageable, safe, appropriate to the needs of learners and which allow for assessment to be carried out in a holistic manner.
OCR further reduces the risk to the independence of the assessment by recommending that the role of the assessor and trainer be separate.
In addition, the qualification will be subject to internal verification and external quality control through external verification.
Candidates must complete all units from Group A plus two units from Group B.
