English
Framework. As such, GCSE is a level 2 qualification and provides
progression from key stage 3 to post-16 studies.
A course based on this specification provides a worthwhile course for
candidates of various ages and from diverse backgrounds in terms of
general education and lifelong learning. Candidates would be unlikely
to find progression direct from the programme of study for KS3
Science easy, without also studying GCSE Science. Progression from
GCSE Additional Science could be to GCE Biology, Chemistry or
Physics. Alternatively, students could progress to AS Science for
Public Understanding.
