When undertaking a qualification that does not appear on the governments' lists as eligible for funding for specific age ranges, users must be aware of legal requirements. Not all qualifications are suitable for all age ranges.
Framework. As such, GCSE is a level 2 qualification and provides
progression from key stage 3 to post-16 studies.
A course based on this specification provides a worthwhile course for
candidates of various ages and from diverse backgrounds in terms of
general education and lifelong learning. Candidates would be unlikely
to find progression direct from the programme of study for KS3
Science easy, without also studying GCSE Science. Progression from
GCSE Additional Science could be to GCE Biology, Chemistry or
Physics. Alternatively, students could progress to AS Science for
Public Understanding.
The assessment of this specification follows the procedures for external and/or internal assessment specified in the QCA qualification and subject criteria.
