Qualification summary

The aim of this qualfication is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills that are required for working with children from 0-16 years. It is a mandatory part of the MA framework in Children's Care, Learning and Deveopment. It provides the underpinning knowledge and understanding for the NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development. This qualification will give learners the recognition for the knowledge and understanding that underpins the work of a childcare worker.

Candidates can progress from Level 3 to Level 4 (provided that they have access to an appropriate work setting) or into a graduate apprenticeship, foundation degree or other qualifications offered by HE institutions in Children's care, learning and development

Practical Demonstration / Assignment
Candidates are required to complete successfully all five assignments which cover assessment criteria within the learning outcomes. For all tasks taken in the written assigments candidates are to base their assignments on real practical activities where this is required. Demonstrate an awareness of cultural differences. Maintain confidentiallity agreements about confidential information. Demonstrate a vigilance in relation to thier own health and safety and that of others. Provide a learner authenticity statement,signed and dated when provided word processed tasks.

The assignmenst will be internally marked and verified by the centre and externally verifed by City & Guilds.
