Qualification summary

The City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection will form part of the requirement needed to gain a SIA Licence to Practise for Close Protection Operatives. The Licence to Practise provides the candidate with the right to work within the Close Protection industry, it is not a guarantee of work, merely providing candidates with the basic knowledge and understanding of the industry.

The aims of this qualification are to:
• meet the needs of candidates who work or want to work and gain a Close Protection License to practise in the industry. Visit the SIA website www.the-sia.org.uk.

There is no direct progression available from this qualification although candidates could move onto the Bucks New University Foundation Degree in Protective Security Management.

This qualification is assessed through a single multiple choice question paper with the practical being assessed internally at the centre and externally verified by our EV network.
