Qualification summary

The qualification is part of an assessment system of 8 grades. The system provides a structured approach that: enables students to master progressively the understanding, knowledge and skills necessary for effective oral communication and dramatic performance; fosters learning through drama; and encourages a love of theatre. It provides students with a valuable system of assessing achievement and progress, and provides teachers with a structured system within which to teach.

The qualification will provide a structured route towards the diplomas in Acting offered by TVU and by other awarding bodies. It also provides a progression route towards employment opportunities in theatre performance and drama teaching.

There are no separately assessed parts of this qualification. All examination components are assessed on a single occasion by an external examiner.
