When undertaking a qualification that does not appear on the governments' lists as eligible for funding for specific age ranges, users must be aware of legal requirements. Not all qualifications are suitable for all age ranges.
A BTEC National Diploma in Media Production will provide those who successfully complete it with a qualification which will enable them to progress to higher education vocational qualifications such as the Edexcel Level 5 BTEC Higher National Certificate or Diploma in Media, or a media production degree, and with the fundamental skills, knowledge and understanding to enter employment in the Media sector in a junior or trainee position.
Assessment decisions are subject to external verification through the National Standards Sampling process.
Assessment is through individual units; there is no holistic assessment for this qualification.
National Certificate in Media Production - candidates must complete the four core units, the mandatory specialist unit, and seven other Media Production specialist units.
National Certificate in Media Production (Television and Film) - four core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and six other specialist units including at least four from the Television and Film list.
National Certificate in Media Production (Radio) - four core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and six other specialist units including at least four from the Radio list.
National Certificate in Media Production (Sound Recording) - four core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and six other specialist units including at least four from the Sound Recording list.
National Certificate in Media Production (Print-Based Media) - four core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and six other specialist units including at least four from the Print and Publishing list.
National Certificate in Media Production (Interactive Media) - four core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and six other specialist units including at least four from the Interactive Media list.
National Certificate in Media Production (Games Development) - four core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and six other specialist units including at least four from the Games Development list.
