When undertaking a qualification that does not appear on the governments' lists as eligible for funding for specific age ranges, users must be aware of legal requirements. Not all qualifications are suitable for all age ranges.
A BTEC National Diploma in Media Production will provide those who successfully complete it with a qualification which will enable them to progress to higher education vocational qualifications such as the Edexcel Level 5 BTEC Higher National Certificate or Diploma in Media, or a media production degree, and with the fundamental skills, knowledge and understanding to enter employment in the Media sector in a junior or trainee position.

Assessment decisions are subject to external verification through the National Standards Sampling process.
Assessment is through individual units; there is no holistic assessment for this qualification.
National Diploma in Media Production - six core units, the mandatory specialist unit, and eleven other Media Production specialist units.
National Diploma in Media Production (Television and Film) - six core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and ten other specialist units including at least six from the Television and Film list.
National Diploma in Media Production (Radio) - six core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and ten other specialist units including at least six from the Radio list.
National Diploma in Media Production (Sound Recording) - six core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and ten other specialist units including at least six from the Level Sound Recording list.
National Diploma in Media Production (Print-Based Media) - six core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and ten other specialist units including at least six from the Print and Publishing list.
National Diploma in Media Production (Interactive Media) - six core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and ten other specialist units including at least six from the Interactive Media list.
National Diploma in Media Production (Games Development) - six core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and ten other specialist units including at least six from the Games Development list.
