Within Edexcel A level Psychology these aims will be achieved through study of five distinct approaches to the subject in the advanced subsidiary units. Within these units students are required to take part in practical activities which suppliment their understanding. The approaches each include key content areas and also focus on methodological issues, contemporary issues, studies and practical activities.

In A2 students study three applications of the subject drawing on the approaches and gaining understanding of the key debates within psychology. The aim is for students to take part in these debates and thus learn psychology through active engagement. Unit 4 allows students to take a synoptic approach to the subject drawing on approaches and applications.
