When undertaking a qualification that does not appear on the governments' lists as eligible for funding for specific age ranges, users must be aware of legal requirements. Not all qualifications are suitable for all age ranges.
The level 3 Advanced National Certificate in Horse Management provides an ideal qualification for students to progress on to after completing a level 2 Horse Care qualification. It maintains a high occupational focus and emphasis on vocational skills. It is suitable for candidates to progress on to if they have completed an Level 2 NVQ in Horse Care, or the NPTC Level 2 National Certificate/Edexcel First Diploma in Horse care.
It has been designed to allow progression directly onto the NPTC Level 3 Advanced National Diploma in Horse Management. However, if candidates do not wish to progress onto this qualification, it provides a direct route into employment or the skills to progress onto a Level 4 NVQ in Equine Management.
The Level 3 Advanced National Certificate maintains a high occupational focus which provides candidates with the skills and knowledge needed to progress into employment in the horse industry, making the qualification attractive to the industry.
The underpinning knowledge of some units is externally assessed by a short answer written paper. The practical activities of these units and the whole of the remaining units are internally assessed by standard externally set assignments. These are subject to external verification by NPTC.
To gain the qualification candidates must complete all of the mandatory units in group A plus three of the optional units from group B.
