EDEXCEL Level 2 BTEC Award in Safe Learning in the Workplace

Qualification summary

The qualification is designed to support learners prior to undertaking work experience. Learners explore a range of contexts in which the main themes of the qualification are explored. These themes include hazard, risk and personal welfare. The qualification has been designed in response to initiatives resulting from Every Child Matters concerning health and safety. Central to the qualification is the empowerment of learners to enable them to develop underpinning knowledge of health and safety whilst undertaking work experience.

The qualification is not designed as part of a progressive suite of health and safety qualifications but is designed to support learning in health and safety within other subject areas. However, the award will provide preparation for learners who progress into employment and undertake NVQ units which include health and safety.

Multiple Choice Examination
The qualification is assessed using a Multiple Choice Question paper.
This will consist of a single test of 45 multiple choice questions.
The test will be on demand accessible online.
The tests will be computer marked.
Four test papers will be available each year.
10% of questions will be replaced each year according to performance statistics and longevity of the question.
Centres will be required to conduct examinations in exam conditions and Edexcel reserves the right to conduct an audit of centre processes at short notice.
