The Edexcel Level 2 NVQ in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving recognises the skills, knowledge and
understanding of candidates and allows them to gain a qualification in the workplace that relates
to their job area and promotes good working practice. This qualification replaces the Level 2 NVQ in Road Passenger Transport and is suitable for the following occupational pathways: Community Transport, Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Drivers and Chauffeurs.
The standards on which this NVQ is based has been developed by Go Skills, the Sector Skills Council for this sector.

Progression

On completion of the Edexcel Level 2 NVQ in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving, candidates may
progress to more senior positions such as leading driver, supervisor or inspector. It also offers progression to further related VRQs such as the Level 2 BTEC Award in Transporting Passengers by Taxi and Private Hire.

External verification processes are overseen by the Lead Verifier who is responsible for ensuring the standard of work by EVs. Regular standardisation takes place through EV meetings. Remedial processes are in place for use when verifiers do not meet the required standard.
