Qualification summary

The aim is to provide a flexible qualification within the pig production industry.

This qualification is to provide a ‘bite-sized’ competence framework for those working within the pig industry. It is particularly aimed at those with supervisory responsibility within a pig production unit. The request from various organisations within the pig industry (such as NPA and BPEX) was for a range of qualifications that were short, bite sized type, recognising practical skill and underpinning knowledge specific to pig production.

Candidates with this qualification could progress into level 3 programs similar to this or longer qualifications such as NVQ's. There is also a good progression route into employment with this qualification having been developed in conjunction with the Pig Industry.
