EDEXCEL Level 3 BTEC National Award in Applied Law
Qualification summary
The BTEC National Award in Law is designed to equip learners with
the knowledge, skills and understanding needed for progression into
employment or further educational opportunities.They also offer a
possible progression route from the accredited BTEC Firsts in
Business. The BTEC National Award in Law is a specialist qualification
that focuses on a vocational area which can be used as a ‘full-time’
programme of learning. They are designed to equip individuals with
the skills, knowledge and understanding required for a range of roles
in organisations within the legal sector including administration,
and advice. The qualification also enables progression to BTEC Higher
Nationals or undergraduate degree qualifications and professional
occupations in the legal world. These qualifications will: 1)
develop a range of skills, knowledge and personal qualities essential
for career development and progression within the legal and
related sectors 2) provide learners with the appropriate knowledge
and skills 3) focus on the practical application of knowledge and the
development of the work related skills required for employment .The specification is designed to appeal to both full time learners interested in a career in Law, and to those who already have experience of working in the sector.
The specialist units allow centres and learners flexibility and choice of which three other units to add to the core, to make up the qualification.This choice allows personalisation opportunities for centres to consider imaginative, innovative and creative curriculum planning and delivery. It also allows learners to focus on their career aspirations or work area within the specification structure.
