Qualification summary

The City & Guilds automotive qualifications are designed to meet the needs of Technicians in the Automotive Service and Repair sector in the following areas:
• Vehicle maintenance and repair
• Vehicle roadside assistance and recovery
The purpose of this trial is to combine the VRQ and NVQ for ease of delivery and integrated learning strategies.

Candidates must complete all the units in Group A - Mandatory units and must complete a further unit from Group B - Optional units. Candidates must achieve a minimum of 78 credits to successfully complete the qualification.

    • R/501/3483 - Contribute to workplace housekeeping
    • K/501/3490 - Maintain positive workplace relationships
    • F/501/3513 - Remove and replace chassis units & components
    • T/501/3511 - Remove and replace electrical auxiliary units & components
    • R/501/3502 - Remove and replace engine units & components
    • R/501/0874 - Make sure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
  • B  -  Optional Units
    One unit must be taken from this group.
    Credit Value required: Minimum 10, Maximum 13.
