Qualification summary
To provide a progression route from the NPTC Level 2 National Certificate in Sports and Amenity Turf Maintenance.
To provide a qualification which meets the needs of the turf industry, including sports clubs and local authorities and which will allow acces to learners in full-time education or in the workplace, either employed or as volunteers.

When undertaking a qualification that does not appear on the governments' lists as eligible for funding for specific age ranges, users must be aware of legal requirements. Not all qualifications are suitable for all age ranges.

This qualification provides a link between the NPTC Level 2 National Certificate in Sports and Amenity Turf Maintenance and the level 4 NVQ in Amenity Horticulture Management. It is also proposed to add a Level 3 Advanced National Diploma next year, which will assist candidates wishing to progress to HE. It can also lead directly into employment within the turf industry. The structure of optional units per type of turf allows managers within the industry to appoint suitably qualified staff

Written Examination
4 of the core units have externally set and marked written examinations. All of the units have an externally set assignment, which is internally assessed, but externally verified by NPTC.
To gain the NPTC Level 3 Advanced National Certificate in Sports and Amenity Turf Management, candidates need to achieve all the mandatory units in Group A plus at least one of the optional units in Group B
