The aim of this qualification is to help learners develop skills within volunteering settings. It is assumed that learners who demonstrate skills at level 3 will be well placed to progress towards relevant sector qualifications and national occupational standards.

This qualification provides opportunities for learners who demonstrate these skills at level 3 to be well placed to progress towards relevant sector qualifications and national occupational standards. The qualification comprises two mandatory units and seven optional units. To achieve the qualification a minimum of 13 credits must be successfully completed in total, 5 from the 2 mandatory units in Group A and a minimum of 8 credits from optional units in Group B. Achievement of any additional optional units will be recognised and recorded on the certificate.
