City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Air Cabin Crew (New Entrant)
Qualification summary
This Diploma covers all the knowledge and skills required to pursue a job within the Aviation Industry as Air Cabin Crew.
Candidates will complete a total of 6 units and study the following.
Introduction to Airline and Aviation Operations:
It is important for cabin crew to have an awareness of Aviation geography and a sound knowledge of the routes that airlines fly, the journey times for the routes and the effects that time zones can have on long haul passengers.
Airline Health, Safety and Security:
Candidates to identify a range of legislation and regulations related to activities which airlines adhere to at all times. The knowledge acquired relates to procedures relevant to various airlines, therefore can be transferred when employment is sustained within the industry.
Airline Emergency Procedures:
Candidate will respond to various planned and unplanned emergencies onboard an aircraft complying with concise instructions. The knowledge acquired will enable the candidate to confidently undertake an authoritative role ensuring all procedures are met.
Crew Room Duties:
Candidate to describe the duties that cabin crew undertake pre and post flight with the focus of the unit on the duties carried out by cabin crew in the crew room.
Role of Air Cabin Crew (On Board):
Candidates will develop the necessary knowledge and understanding the onboard role of air cabin crew. This will include preparing the cabin for embarkation, coordinating a smooth and safe embarkation of passengers and the importance of offering a professional in-flight service. Candidates will also develop the necessary knowledge and understanding of food service onboard an aircraft.
Preparation for Employment as Air Cabin Crew:
Candidates will focus on the presentation skills of the candidate in preparation for employment.

Multiple Choice Examination
Practical Demonstration / Assignment
Unit 201 will be assessed with a GOLA online multiple choice exam.
All other units will be externally set assignments, internally marked and externally verified.
All 6 units must be completed and achieved in order to gain the Level 2 Diploma in Air Cabin Crew (New Entrant).
