Qualification summary

The BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship is drawn from the BTEC Level 3 Enterprise and Entrepreneurship sector suite of units. The Diploma is a work related qualification, developed with the National Enterprise Academy (NEA), that that focuses on the development of creativity and business planning skills through the establishment and operation of a new business enterprise. It is designed for learners in full and part time education in further education and has been developed in partnership with the National Enterprise Academy.

The Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship covers the components of the core units of the Business Enterprise National Occupational Standards. Units are mapped to National Occupational Standards for this purpose.

The specification requires learners to establish and operate a legally functioning business and thus enables learners to become occupationally competent in business enterprise.

The units have been developed to assess personal learning and thinking skills across the qualification. Opportunities for developing Functional Skills have been signposted in units.

The Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship consists of 8 mandatory units plus optional units that provide for a combined total of 120 credits and 720 guided learning hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.
