Qualification summary

The EDI Level 3 Award for Professional Investigators is a programme designed to meet the needs of learners who require a qualification which will enable them to apply for a Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence for Private Investigators.
The qualification is based on the SIA specification for core competency training for Private Investigators which covers the knowledge and understanding that a candidate must prove in order to be issued with a licence to practice and covers the basic core of good practice for the purpose of licensing.

To enable employment as a Private Investigator (once licensing comes into effect) an individual must be granted an SIA licence. To apply for a licence to practice s/he must have achieved a Private Investigator's qualification approved by the SIA.
