Qualification summary
The Progression Diploma in Travel and Tourism provides a programme which:
a) gives learners the opportunity to plan journeys and study a range of UK and worldwide destinations
b) gives learners the opportunity to look after customers and develop team working and communication skills
c) develops functional skills in mathematics, English and ICT and Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills
d) gives learners the opportunity to learn about the industries that make up the sector and the employment opportunities and progression routes within it
e) encourages learners to plan, do, and review their work
f) gives learners the opportunity to be enterprising and creative in considering responses to the technological, environmental, political, business and economic challenges faced by the sector
g) gives learners the opportunity to learn about promotion and sales
h) gives learners the opportunity to understand the changes and trends within the sector.

The Progression Diploma in Travel and Tourism enables learners to progress to employment within the travel and tourism sectors and related industries. The qualification will also provide opportunities for progression to a range of further and higher education courses, and Apprenticeships.
