OU Level 3 NVQ in Commissioning, Procurement and Contracting for Social Care
Qualification summary
The qualification is based directly on the National Occupational Standards for Commissioning, Procurement & Contracting for the Social Care, Children’s and Young People’s Workforces.
It is intended for people who have a role in commissioning in the health and social care sector and supports the aims of each UK government for high quality provision based on improved outcomes.
This qualification, in the familiar NVQ format, is the first national qualification at this level to be introduced for the Commissioning workforce within the care sector, and will be available only in Wales where there is the most urgent need.

When undertaking a qualification that does not appear on the governments' lists as eligible for funding for specific age ranges, users must be aware of legal requirements. Not all qualifications are suitable for all age ranges.

This qualification will lead to employment opportunities due to the policy imperative in Wales for the commissioning workforce to have access to qualifications that will assure suitable learning and occupational competence. It also allows for progression to the NVQ 4 and NVQ 5 in Commissioning, Procurement and Contracting.

Assessment systems and requirements are based on the CPC Assessment Strategy, which in turn is approved by UKCES and based on SfC&D’s over-arching assessment strategy for NVQs.
Recording forms will ensure opportunities for assessors to give feedback to their candidates and provide evidence that the competences and values of the CPC NOS have been demonstrated.
Candidates must complete all four Mandatory Units in Group A plus any four Optional Units from Group B (Total 8 units)
