EDEXCEL Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Production Arts (QCF)

Qualification summary

The Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Production Arts with Costume, Makeup, Set Design and Construction, Stage Management, Theatre Technology and Arts Management pathways are designed as successors to the current Edexcel Level 3 BTEC qualifications of the same titles. The revisions to the BTEC Nationals in Production Arts allow for the opportunity to update the units and revise the content where appropriate.

Further information will be added to each of the units in terms of an Outline Learning Plan and also in relation to the delivery and assessment strategies. More detailed information in each of these sections will allow tutors to offer a more informed approach to the implementation of the individual units and therefore also to the complete qualification, whether it is the Level 3 BTEC Certificate, Subsidiary Diploma, Diploma or Extended Diploma. The vocational context of the qualification is provided through the core units and additional optional units. The vocational nature of the qualification is underlined through links to the relevant Sector Skills Council (Creative and Cultural Skills).
Opportunities for developing Functional Skills have been signposted in units.
