When undertaking a qualification that does not appear on the governments' lists as eligible for funding for specific age ranges, users must be aware of legal requirements. Not all qualifications are suitable for all age ranges.
The qualification provides an introduction into health and social care.
By developing learners’ skills and confidence this qualification also helps them progress to further learning, such as the Level 2 Certificate and Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care or the L2 Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care. Progression from this qualification may also lead to skilled employment or to supported employment.

To achieve the City & Guilds Award in Caring for Children, the learner must achieve 6 credits. 4 credits must be achieved at Entry Level.
