Qualification summary

The aim of the qualification is to provide individuals with the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required in health and social care. The units in this qualification will provide an introduction to working in health and social care.

There is a wide range of units to chose from that will provide an introduction to the key activities and responsibilities involved in health and social care, such as Rights and Responsibilities at Work, the role of the Carer at mealtimes and Introduction to Activities for Children and Adults.

The qualification provides an introduction into health and social care.

By developing learners’ skills and confidence this qualification also helps them progress to further learning, such as the Level 2 Certificate and Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care or the L2 Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care. Progression from this qualification may also lead to skilled employment or to supported employment.
