When undertaking a qualification that does not appear on the governments' lists as eligible for funding for specific age ranges, users must be aware of legal requirements. Not all qualifications are suitable for all age ranges.
The qualification provides an induction into work in health and social care.
Learners taking units within the qualification, such as:
-Learning from Work Placement
-Personal Care in Health and Social Care
-Communication with Adults and Children in Health and Social Care
can develop their personal skills and gain experience of Level 2 itself.
By developing learners’ skills and confidence this qualification also helps them progress to further learning, such as the Level 2 Certificate and Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care or the L2 Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care. Progression from this qualification may also lead to skilled employment or to supported employment.

To achieve the City & Guilds Certificate in Health and Social Care, the learner must achieve 13 credits. 7 credits must be achieved at Level 1.
