Qualification summary

The Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care has been developed in the Health and Social Care sector to:

• provide education and training for Health and Social Care employees
• give opportunities for Health and Social Care employees to achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 vocationally specific qualification
• give full-time learners the opportunity to enter employment in the Health and Social Care sector or to progress to vocational qualifications such as the Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Nationals in Health and Social Care
• give learners the opportunity to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life.

The Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care is a 15-credit and 90-guided-learning-hour (GLH) qualification that consists of either:

One Specialist Optional unit (Group B) and one Optional unit (Group C)
or
Three Specialist Optional units (Group B)

That provide for a combined total of 15 credits.
