Unit summary
This unit aims to develop learners’ skills in large-scale, spatial design. It allows learners to explore and experiment with the manipulation of space in specialised areas of study such as architecture and interior design, environmental design, exhibition and display design, urban design and landscape design. Tutors should engage learners in the analysis of the characteristics of architectural, urban and natural space, its historical and contemporary relationships with human interaction. This unit offers opportunities to develop and present spatial design ideas through 2D design work as well as actual and virtual model-making.
